On CreationismI believe there is a Creator--or, at least, I'd like to. But believing is not the same thing as knowing (at least, not in the epistemological sense). Hence, while I believe there is a creator, I do not know for sure that there is one. Huh, you say? Well, since I have seen no deductively valid proof for the existence of a Creator, I cannot claim to know that there is one. I believe, but I do not know. Why I do believe that there is a CreatorEven though there is no fool-proof evidence to support the existence of a Creator, it appears highly unlikely that the universe, in all its complexity, began spontaneously and without cause, out of nothing. The sheer size and organization of the universe would appear to require the concerted action of a creator. In order words, a creation--one this complex, no less--would require a creator. [I agree that this argument is not deductively valid (i.e. fool-proof) either; but I think it is strong enough to support my belief in the existence of a creator.] Why I do not know there is a CreatorAgain, I cannot claim to know that a Creator does in fact exist because I have seen no d. v. proof for the existence of a Creator. Therefore...While I believe there is a Creator, I do not know for sure. If you know of a fool-proof (not anecdotal or similar) evidence for the existence of a Creator, please let me know.
